Roselle Mayor Jamel Holley to be Inaugurated January 6th

jamelholleyROSELLE – January 6, 2012 - Jamel Holley will make history on Friday, January 6th when he is sworn in as mayor of the Borough of Roselle, making him the youngest mayor in the municipality's 118-year history.

Holley, 32, served as a councilman-at-large and was unopposed in November's election after defeating former Mayor Garrett Smith in the June Democratic primary.

"I look forward to begin implementing positive change and new policies designed to stabilize Roselle's property tax base, encourage economic development and restore our residents' pride in the Borough," said Holley, who had served as the youngest chief of staff in the New Jersey State Legislature and the youngest elected official in Union County when he was elected to the Borough Council in 2002. "My administration will be ready to hit the ground running and take the steps necessary to improve the quality of life in town."

Holley will take the oath of office with running mates Councilman Yves Aubourg and Councilman-elect Randy Sandifer at 6 p.m. at Roselle Borough Hall, 210 Chestnut St. All three were officially sworn-in on Janaury 1st and are now in office.

Born and raised in Roselle, Holley graduated from Abraham Clark High School in 1997 and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master's Degree in Public Administration. He is the President & CEO of Front Porch Strategies, a government affairs consulting firm based in Caldwell, N.J.
