At Madison Square Garden, the Jordan Classic featured many of the top high school athletes in the country. In a matchup between the City team and Suburban team, the Suburban squad won a high-scoring contest 137-133.
Top players on the Suburban team included Saint Benedict's Prep of Newark senior Gilvydas Bruta who scored 10 points with 14 rebounds and two assists. Teammate Aaron Brown had 16 points and seven rebounds. Paterson's Fuquan Edwin led the way with 26 points and five rebounds. For the city team, Ryan Rhoomes had 26 points and 10 rebounds.
In the All-American game, the West Team defeated the East Team 129-125. The game's MVP was Kyrie Irving from Saint Patrick's High School. He led the East team with 22 points and four rebounds. The West squad was led by North Carolina recruit Harrison Barnes, who led his team with 20 points and 15 rebounds. Irving, who will be playing for Duke, is a resident of West Orange.
