Editor's Note for October 17

DHIRENHello Readers,

Governor Chris Christie said no to running for president last week, and this week he endorsed Governor Mitt Romney for the republican presidential candidacy. The Republican Party does not have any strong candidate in their camp. However, Mitt Romney may be their best choice. On Oct. 11th, Governor Christie was answering questions over the phone to many republican supporters, who still have doubt about their leadership. A lady asked him about how Romney will keep his promises. Gov. Christie answered on his behalf that he has made changes for the better which are helping the people of New Jersey, and Romney will do the same. Christie has known Romney for the past two and a half years, when Romney came to campaign for Christie. Christie said that Obama has screwed up and place us in a big hole. However, he did not talk about President George W. Bush who placed us in the big hole to begin with. Mr. Governor, let’s keep the record straight. When Obama came into office, the Dow Jones Industrial Estate index was 8,776, and now (as of October 7, 2011) it is 11,103. It could be better, but is still way better than President Bush’s term. President Bush started a war with the excuse of weapons of mass destruction and place America in this huge hole. The 9/11 response should have been only on Afghanistan, but he wanted to take revenge for his father and attacked Iraq.

According to a piece from Market Oracle not so long ago: “Now, in 2008, tyranny and government excesses are again upon America, but this time it is by America’s own hand. The policies of King George III were no more egregious than the policies of President George Bush II, taxation without real representation, e.g. TARP (80 % Americans opposed), the imposition of policies contrary to the will of the people, e.g. U.S. presence in Iraq and Afghanistan (70 % opposed), and the loss of individual freedoms under the Patriot Act (60 % opposed).” Yes, the Democrats who were running the show are also to be blamed for. They let taxpayer money slide to different countries, with their own selfish reasons and getting favors from the world economy.

In the past, America was known for interfering in different countries so they could sell their weapons and be strong and powerful. But now it is a global world. America still has money, but is losing control to China. America must make new policies that can help the people of America, but this means both parties working together, as they just approved a budget with no reduction in the military and arms. Wasteful spending makes some of the people filthy rich and they are the ones have a huge lobby in Washington D.C.

President Obama is a nice person, but does not have the courage to stand against bad people with power and money. He is trying to bring change, but does not have backup from the congress and senate. On Oct. 11th, his $450 billion “Job Bill” was rejected in the Democratic Controlled Senate. He could not even hold all of the Democrats (53) in his side. Now, he is talking about breaking up the bill and trying to pass it in pieces. The European economy is worsening, and the world is waiting to see what will happen to that economy by the middle of next year. It is scary and affecting the whole world. Hopefully, the German government, who is a strong partner in the Euro market, will come to the rescue for Europe and the world.

Have a wonderful week. I’ll talk to you next week.
