Essex County Clerk Christopher Durkin held a poster contest amongst 4th grade students throughout Essex County. There was a great response from the students, as 687 posters were submitted by the students from 42 grade schools throughout Essex County. County Clerk Durkin hosted the top 15 winners at a reception last week at the Hall of Records in Newark.
The contest was open to 4th graders throughout Essex County and is sponsored by the Essex County Clerk’s Office to commemorate County Government week. Students are asked to express the history, beauty, and people of Essex County through art.
Durkin announced that Vinicius DeAlmeida (Ann Street School), Kamilly Lousado (Ann Street School), Emily Acosta (Robert Treat Academy) and Anna Nomura (Saint Michael School) were winners in the “My Essex County” 4th grade poster contest.
Local Talk congratulates all of the winners and students for their efforts.
