Smolin Lupin, a full-service accounting firm headquartered in Fairfield, today announced two new partners.

Theodore S. Byer, CPA, PFS, CFP™ and Philip Drudy, Esq., CPA – both of whom were former partners in a large regional accounting firm – joined Smolin Lupin earlier this month to further enhance its tax practice.

"These two professionals have extensive experience dealing with various tax related issues and share Smolin Lupin's commitment to excellence," said Theodore J. Dudek, CPA, Managing Member of the Firm. "Ted and Phil will provide new perspective for Smolin Lupin as we continue to grow and evolve."

Byer specializes in providing accounting and tax work for the entertainment industry as well as the medical services industry practice, Dudek said, adding he is experienced in helping physicians and their office managers master the increasingly complicated business of medicine.

With the addition of Byer and his business management team, Smolin Lupin is in the position to offer family office and concierge type services to its current and prospective clients. With 30 years experience and as both a certified financial planner and certified public accountant, Byer brings a holistic approach to the overall financial and tax planning process. He graduated from Muhlenberg College and earned his MBA from Rider University.

Drudy has worked over the past 25 years for national, Big Four firms as well as regional firms in the New York area. He has extensive experience in corporate tax, including multi-state and multi-entity corporations and complex corporate compliance and structuring, Dudek said.

Drudy has structured multi-tiered entities to minimize federal and state corporate income tax and has represented clients before the IRS and state tax authorities. He is a frequent speaker at seminars on tax, estate planning and life-cycle issues.

As a lawyer and accountant, Drudy has also been a trusted resource for national media seeking comment on such issues. He is a graduate of Brooklyn College and earned his law degree from Brooklyn Law School.

"Bringing onboard such talented and accomplished individuals furthers our firm's dedication to improving and enhancing our services," Dudek said.
