PC AGE Announces New Computer Technician Training Scholarship Program

pcagelogoPC AGE Career Institute announced today the launch of its A+ Certified Technician Training Scholarship program.

Twelve full scholarships will be offered this fall to recent high school graduates who wish to pursue a career in information technology. Applicants must be high school graduates from the class of 2009 or 2010 and pass a computer aptitude test to be considered for the scholarship. Selection will be based on an interview with an Admissions Representative.

The scholarship includes CompTIA A+ certification training courses at PC AGE Career Institute's Edison, Jersey City or Parsippany campus. Once students are CompTIA A+ certified, they are eligible to work as computer technicians, desktop support technicians, PC support specialists and computer help desk professionals. These positions start at $10-12 per hour and offer opportunities for rapid professional advancement.

"Information Technology is one of the fastest growing fields in the United States," said Zafar Khizer, founder and President of PC AGE. "There are more than 250,000 jobs listed on CompTIA's website alone and those jobs are unlikely to be outsourced. Anyone looking for a steady career with bright prospects for the future should consider the IT field."

Students who are awarded the scholarship can save about $3,000 if they decide to pursue advanced level certifications from Microsoft and Cisco after receiving their CompTIA A+ certification. Many colleges will also accept up to six credits for the CompTIA A+ certification training for students who decide to pursue a college degree.

CompTIA A+ certification validates the latest skills needed by today's computer support professionals. It is an international, vendor-neutral certification recognized by major hardware and software vendors, distributors and resellers. A+ certification confirms a technician's ability to perform tasks such as installation, configuration, diagnosis, preventative maintenance, basic communication and customer service.

The application deadline is September 30, but the sooner students submit their information the better. Students who wish to apply for the scholarship should email their name, contact information and a copy of their high school diploma to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
