Jaffe Communications Inc., a Newark-based public relations firm, today acquired Campbell Media of Montclair to expand its health care public relations practice in New Jersey.
The new entity of Jaffe Communications - the Jaffe-Campbell Health Group - will be managed by Carol Ann Campbell. She is an award-winning medical journalist with extensive experience in the health care arena, covering the industry for The Star-Ledger and The (Bergen) Record for many years.
Prior to founding her own firm, Campbell served as Director of Media Relations for Saint Michael's Medical Center in Newark.
The Jaffe-Campbell Health Group will have three partners – Campbell, Jonathan Jaffe and Bruno Tedeschi. Jaffe and Tedeschi – both of whom are Jaffe Communications principals – will be working daily with Campbell’s team to mesh the companies and identify strengths.
“Carol Ann is widely respected in the medical community throughout New Jersey,” Tedeschi said. “Her experience as a journalist, a media relations specialist for one of New Jersey’s largest hospitals, and an entrepreneur makes her a perfect fit in our growing firm. She will be an enormous asset.”
Founded in 2002, Jaffe Communications has evolved into one of New Jersey’s top communications firms, representing clients in diverse fields, including education, insurance, telecommunications, government and advocacy.
Jaffe said the acquisition of Campbell Media is a logical move, as the agency already has a robust clientele in health care, including the New Jersey Association of Health Underwriters, Meditron, Altigro Benefit Services and the National Association of Social Workers.
“Carol Ann has worked on both sides of the media equation. She brings a wide-range of media contacts, an insider's knowledge of the industry, and expert writing and communication skills,” Jaffe said. “She knows how to advocate for clients using both traditional and new media.”
The Jaffe-Campbell Health Group – being launched today – provides strategic communications and public relations consulting, including social media and web strategies, to hospitals, doctor’s group practices and medical associations.
Campbell lives in Montclair with her husband, Ken, and three children. She received her bachelor’s degree from S.I. Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University. In 2008, she was named Journalist of the Year by the New Jersey Press Association for her health care reporting. She can be reached at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
